Privacy Policy

Buddhika AI is an exam-preparation app operated by Abhishek Prasad, an individual based in India ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who processes it, and your rights. It is written to comply with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and (if you give it) phone number, and your password (stored only in hashed form by our login provider).
- Learning activity: the courses you enrol in, your mock test attempts, the answers you choose and your scores, and topic-wise performance.
- Doubts you ask: the text of each doubt question and the answer the app gave.
- Crash and error reports: technical details when the app or server fails (error message, app version, device model and operating system), linked only to your account ID, never your name or email.
Downloaded notes are stored encrypted on your phone and never leave it. The app checks locally whether the phone is rooted or jailbroken, and blocks screenshots on protected screens, to protect course content; these checks send nothing to us.
We do not show ads, we do not use advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not collect your location, contacts, camera or photos.
Why we use it
- To create and secure your account and give you the courses you enrol in.
- To score mock tests and show your progress.
- To answer your doubts, and to improve course material where the app could not answer.
- To find and fix crashes and errors.
We do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising.
Who processes it for us
- Supabase: database, login and file storage.
- Render: runs our server (Singapore region).
- OpenAI: when you ask a doubt, its text is sent to OpenAI to check it for harmful content, to search the course material, and to write the answer. Under OpenAI's API terms this data is not used to train its models.
- Sentry: crash and error reports, stripped of names, emails, passwords and message content.
These providers may store data outside India. They process it only to provide their service to us.
AI and content
Some study notes and questions are drafted with the help of AI tools and are reviewed by a human before students see them. Doubt answers are generated by AI from the course material and may contain mistakes; always check important facts.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and learning data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, enrolments, mock test history and doubt history are deleted immediately. Crash reports are kept by Sentry for a limited period and then deleted automatically.
Your rights and deleting your account
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent, by emailing abhishekprasad1323@gmail.com. You can delete your account yourself at any time:
- in the app: Profile → Delete account; or
- on the web, without the app: delete your account here.
Children
Buddhika AI is not meant for children under 13. If you are under 18, you may use it only with the consent of your parent or guardian, who should read this policy with you. We do not track children's behaviour or show them targeted advertising. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email abhishekprasad1323@gmail.com and we will delete it.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS), access to course data is restricted by user, and passwords are never stored in plain text. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting you, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
Grievance Officer and contact
For any privacy question, request or complaint, contact our Grievance Officer: Abhishek Prasad, abhishekprasad1323@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
